That would include the Senseo, the Melitta One:One, the Bunn My Cafe, or perhaps the Krups Home Cafe. These machines take the same kind of flat coffee pod (or pad) that looks like a teabag or tiny filter pack.

The same pods can be used with any of these machines without any difficulties. For a Keurig or Tassimo brewer, you'll have to get more specialized capsules (sometimes erroneously called a pod) like K-Cups or T-Discs... not the ones mentioned in this article. However, there are flavored versions for these machines as well. So when you are looking for flavored pods, you will see a different selection depending on the manufacturer.

With soft pods, you do not have to match the brand of your pod with the brand of your brewer. Most pod brewers will accept a soft pod from any manufacturer. In other words, you are free to use Senseo pods in a Bunn My Cafe. Our best seller is the Miss Ellie's French Vanilla soft pods.

All these pod makers have a long list of other blends, such as Kona, Colombian, Kenyan, Sumatran, or Brazilian coffees too. Various roast types from dark to light, and everything in between as well. If you like flavored drinks, don't discount tea pods. Solera has mint, hibiscus and passion fruit and tea from Organa comes in chai and chamomile.

While its true that you may not have as many options with pods as you would with traditional whole bean coffee, the popularity of single-serve coffee makers means that more companies are offering a wider variety of coffees all the time. You may be surprised what tastes will be available on the market in the next little while. And if you really can't live without more exotic flavor options, don't forget syrups. Monin alone offers syrups in butterscotch, cranberry, peanut butter and mango. You don't necessarily have to get flavored pods in order to make great flavored coffee.
