Coffee in the Movies

Alex Nikitin

Coffee in the movies has had other great moments as well. As the town is on the brink of destruction in Dante' Peak, scientist Pierce Bronsnan is wooed by mayor Linda Hamilton with endless cups of coffee. Later, as they flee for their lives from the raging volcano, he admits that he never really cared for her coffee. Starbucks has ascended to the default coffee in the movies. In The Devil Wears Prada, Anne Hathaway spends half the film chasing after Starbucks. If there had been an Oscar for Best Coffee in the Movies, this scene should have won it.  In Heat, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, reminisce over a cup of coffee at the end of the film. One of the most memorable moments of coffee in the movies as these two giants of the cinema share the screen and a cup of coffee.

Of course, coffee in the movies often takes a backseat to the action on the big screen. Who can forget Meg Ryan' big moment in When Harry Met Sally when she shows Billy Crystal how good of an actress women can be in the middle of a coffee shop. As you can see, coffee in the movies is a celebration of the finest moments of cinema and the importance coffee plays in daily life.  Just add popcorn and you’re good to go.
